Penni Wood operates a small Western riding program in the beautiful Lost Pines area of Bastrop 5 miles from Bastrop State Park off of HWY 21. Penni's student's ages have ranged from 6 to 60. Penni focuses on safety, helmets are provided, and references are available.

Penni offers lessons for beginner riders using her lesson horse Bertha. Penni has owned her for 9 years and she is an American Quarter Horse. She is 16 years old and is very patient with beginners.

For intermediate and advanced riders, Penni takes people out to an equestrian park located in between Austin and Bastrop.

Penni is the founder of the HAT program which combines horsemanship and tutoring to help children discover their strengths and abilities to improve their school performance.
